Have now tried Super Anti Spyware which did complete. I opened Control panel and uninstalled Avast then rebooted the Laptop ,Further still i also went to programs folder and deleted Avast folder. I really have no idea of whether or not this will help with your problem but it is worth a try. The display is reduced to the bare minimum and so icons and windows are larger and not so well defined.
